If you would like to help hang artwork in our hallways, prep work for art shows, take pix for our website, I WOULD LOVE YOUR HELP!
Just zip me an email: [email protected]
*One way that parents can get involved with their child's art education is through the display process. On Marvelous Art Mondays we will be creating these hallway displays! This includes labeling, matting/framing, painting background murals, hanging, etc. If you would like to help with this process, send me an email and remember to fill out the rrisd volunteer forms!
*Can't make it up here to help? No problem! Set up a gallery of your child's work at home. Hallways, refridgerators, walls, and windows all make great display places!
*Set up still lifes (shoes, food, any interesting item) and practice drawing together with pencil and paper. You can smudge the pencil with your finger to create shadow effects. Way cool!
*Art is everywhere! Take the oppourtunity to discuss with your children what they like about certain colors, patterns, designs, billboards, cd covers, t-shirt designs, cartoons, movie posters, etc. Give them the oppourtunity to free draw and ask them to describe their work. Students love to share the story behind what they create.
